One of my most enjoyable times was hauling for Preferred Transport. He had a tender for government shipments, he had 3 owner operators going to military bases pick up partial loads and he would combine them for long haul trucks with multiple drops. It was a smooth operation until one day government agents came in and pad locked the warehouse. They also froze his bank account and confiscated his home. It turns out combination of federal freight bills of lading was illegal. The whole operation ceased over a weekend. Beware when you start hauling with your truck. The are no protections as there are for employee drivers.
There are many many dishonest people and companies in this business.

I'm back on the south end of the Thunderdome, fixing to get some fuel in Pecos and make my way up to Lubbock with some high-dollar plywood.

 

Waiting at clinic to take a drug test. Good thing I don’t do drugs. Told them, haven’t Driven in 2 weeks, ain’t going nowhere. Don’t matter, Apparently guidelines mean nothing anymore. A couple of these Drivers in here are being very rude idiots. As if the clinics job isn’t hard enough. Grown ### Men acting like Big Babies.

 

You know, those guys results might come back "inconclusive" at best, or "contaminated" at worst.
