US to Mexico?

    Is it safe to visit people in Tijuana/Laredo/Juarez?Can an an American driver bobtail to and from US to Tijuana/Laredo/Juarez simply and freely? Anyone know how this process works?

    Yeah, then when you come back your company will have a brand new driver for your truck. If your and O/O check your insurance.

    Truck stops near the border have van service to cross the border. They're privately owned vans, not associated with the truck stops.

    Yeah, you don't need to cross to pick up a load, they will bring it to a drop lot in the US. I would not drive my vehicle cross the border.

    Years ago I'd drive my car across the border to Laredo or El Paso, then give some guy $5.00 to watch it for me while I partied with my buddies.
    Wouldn't even consider that now. Mexico was peaceful and relatively safe then.

    Go ahead and cross the border and visit your friends. No problem. Just LEAVE YOUR TRUCK/TRACTOR on the U.S. side of the border. As was posted above... take a shuttle/ taxi and enjoy yourself

    I drive to Tijuana often to visit. Sometimes I spend the weekend, sometimes I return the same day. If you mind your own business and stay away from the red light districts, you will be fine. BTW, I go in my 4 wheeler.
