That's how we all learned. IMO better to let them learn common sense from taking a few small lumps and bruises. The kids from helicopter parents don't start learning that basic stuff until they're adults.

That's awesome.! Glad he's healing up, & it hasn't slowed him down.. I know that comment comes off as bizarre sounding, but it's not meant to be. @AModelCat summed it up well.

I don't have kids but if I did, I'd like to think my parenting strategy would be very similar. You've got to let a boy just be a boy. Sure, boys will get into mischief, some bumps, bruises, & scars along the way but that is just part of growing up. Daughters too. Seems like many kids have their childhood striped from them with all the meds handed out like candy, & bs saftey Sally crap everywhere..

Very cool for me to see you teaching them how to build, & work on equipment also. Really wish I had someone to learn me those skills as a young'n, instead of fumbling my way through it now, or paying someone to do it.. (usually halfazzed overpriced too)
