    Orientation onboarding update:

Finished orientation at Grandview yesterday. Passed physical and now sitting at home until going out with my mentor starting this Tuesday am.

Anxious to get it started and then solo out. So far everyone, and I mean everyone, has been extremely nice and helpful. No bad attitudes so far.

    Is it Tuesday yet?

I just finished being a mentee yesterday evening. Received my brand new 2020.5 Cascadia and left Hermiston this morning with my first solo load. A straight shot of GM to Tacoma and then deadhead to the lot/DC in Spanaway.

Now I'm sitting at home but I have to go back out as soon as my 34 hour reset is accomplished. I'll have a short week this week as I will need to be back by Thursday night to start on my new assignment, Sunday out at 0330 on a 5/2.

Not bad for right out of the gate!

    A bit of an update:

Been running solo for 2 weeks now, currently sitting at home. Instead of the 6/2 that was being offered the GTM dangled a 5/2 in front of me that is a start out on Sunday at 0330, that means some of Thursday at home and all day Friday and Saturday. I do have to get up at 1230am on Sunday to leave the house by 1am to get to the drop yard before 0330. It's not bad.

My miles are not yet where they need to be and I've been running hard but the learning curve is steep in setting the best ETD, etc.
Also, I lost 10 hours on Monday before last as my brand new truck had peoplenet issues...finally they ordered a new black box and gave me a loaner. Loaner was also brand new and since they said it'd be a couple days before I could have my truck back I just asked to make the loaner my permanent truck, seeing how I had already moved in. No problem they said.
I did get paid for those 10 hours but 14 per hour isn't going to bring up ADP, or make much of a check.
Well, here's hoping the next week runs smoothly!

    truckdriver31 Thanks this.

Yeah, my mileage was ok but not at the point of making big money yet.
