I actually started my career as a bull hauler so I know the game all to well.
Most who got in to bull hauling
( like myself ) grew up on farms so it was a natural progression.

You say the good outweighs the bad from OOIDA. Everyone only seems to remember the failed fight with ELDs. OOIDA actually won the fight once against ELDs. Many drivers forget that. Lightning rarely strikes twice. So they lose a fight, and do little to change HOS and some drivers want to turn on them. So fickle. To be quite honest, the new HOS isn't going to change how I already work, not that much. At least there is somebody on the owners side. OOIDA vs megas, ATA, FMSCA it's a bit of an unfair fight, but you touting their record says a lot.

I tend to stay out of controversy here and haven't always agreed with Ooida,s stance to the point where I dropped out .
I recently rejoined as were not always gonna agree on everything.
I like elogs from the stand point of it holds meat packers to get it loaded on time or it will be late .
Current member and we arnt always gonna agree on everything.PoleCrusher, bryan21384, wore out and 1 other person Thank this. -
It’s not necessarily the affordability of animal care.
it’s more about logistics and not being able to provide care at many remote locations .speedyk Thanks this. -
All I'm gonna say is if yall think it's so easy hauling livestock get you some of it.

I have never hauled it but do love sleeping next to it. The sound of hooves stomping makes me sleep like a baby. My only problem with you guys is you don't park long enough for me to get a good nights sleep.tommymonza, PoleCrusher, Doealex and 2 others Thank this.

Bull hauling is the hardest trucking there is. Probably even harder than running a child daycare. Hearding bulls and heifers into a small space can kill you and the longer they stay on that wagon the madder they get.

I personally would never haul livestock, especially cattle of any kind. Personally, I think that's the only sector of trucking that should have had HOS modified. They need regs specifically for them, like HOS cut in half or something. Livestock gotta get there, and fast.

I'm not saying livestock is easy, the point remains that if extended HOS is safe for that cargo, then it's safe for others.
I think about this when there are exempt periods as well. All the sudden HOS are thrown aside because it's expensive for some wealthy people to do it right. Doesn't matter when following HOS costs the driver and the company.Doealex Thanks this.
