- We have 2 pj trailers bought brand new, one in 2019 and one in 2020, We never haul even half the rated weight for these trailers, we have a fleet of rgn's for the big stuff. Had the neck welds break going down the road last week and get it towed back to our yard for inspection to find all the welds had just flat out came apart, now mind you we are a pipeline company with 20 plus in service welders that weld on running pipelines and get they're weld x-rayed, they said this is the poorest attempt at welding they have seen on a trailer. both trailers have a 3 year warranty and we just got the Finger from PJ trailers about honoring the warranty! buyer beware. look for your self. They never even came and looked at the trailers, they're R&D determined that we overload the trailers just from pics of the loads we haul, atv's corrugated pipe a 3/4 ton pick up now and again, the welds have no penetration what so ever, push two pieces of steel together and wire feed weld it. $36,000 later, a 2019 and 2020 need to be totally rebuilt.
PJ trailer owners beware

Maybe its time to start boycotting the larger trailer manufacturers. Too many stories about bad QC and then not standing by their warranty. You spend $10k-$20k and should expect at least decent quality build for those prices. Not something that needs repairs every 6 months or so.
After my bad experience with another big trailer manufacturer I decided this time to find a smaller less known company and voice my concern for quality. Hoping for a good experience this time.Lite bug, clausland and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
Can you see any of this dudes pics? None if them will pull up for me..
-
So add up the weights of what you were hauling & prove you didn't have it overloaded.! Then go after them! I wouldn't stand for that crap.
This is sad to hear because their sister company Load trail stood behind me. I had a 2014 that needed some minor welds repaired in 2015 & 2016 & they fixed it no questions asked. Nothing structural though..
This must be in every small/medium duty trailer manufacturer handbook. "You must have overloaded it".. What a cop out. They all claim this same crap..Lite bug, clausland and 24kHotshot Thank this. -
No, they won't load for me either.
I got the "You must have overloaded it" BS with my first texas pride car trailer and they couldn't tell me how heavy "overloaded" is.singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
It comes down to cost. More or less you get what you pay for. Something high end like Alum-Line is way more than most want to spend.
-
sent them pics and weights, the reply I got back after 2 weeks was "our R&D dept determined you over loaded the trailers" Company Lawyer got involved today.singlescrewshaker Thanks this.

Wow, that's a lot of heavy air on there. It would seem you now know what you are not buying in the future. We have a ton of options in this country and some are very well put together.Elg1968 and singlescrewshaker Thank this.
