I like that. It looks like its supposed to be that way. That don’t look bad. The way it blends and the color makes it look like its in the glass. Like the old tinted glass in the old 60’s- 80’s cars and the glass was put in upside down. What I mean is when they just slap on some limo film or that chrome film and call it done. That is a great idea. Custom cut flat glass and install it upside down. You get any flack from Dot on that? Some of them are nazi’s when it comes to that asi line on the glass and were it is in relation to tint and line of sight.

Also, if OP is worried about the longetivity of a matte-finish paint or prefers not to paint anything at all, there is an option in using a matte vinyl wrap. Apply with a heat gun, yank if off and redo when it gets crusty. 5'x6' sheet of this stuff costs $40.
