Hours of Service and Exemptions for 100/150 air mile rule

    So we are a utility contractor and fall under the 100/150 air mile exemptions. We mostly work within 100 miles of our shop. However does anyone know if a guy is driving a non CDL-Commercial vehicle and is within the 100/150 mile radius but works over 12 hours. Does he need to fill out a logbook?

    Anyone driving a vehicle with a GVWR over 10,000 lbs. needs to follow all logging rules.
    Now, the Non-CDL timecard exemption is for 14 hours so it give a bit more time.

    not necessarily. Many states do not require logging until you reach CDL vehicles.

    Crossing state lines is 10K up in a commercial vehicle, plus medical card, maintenance requirements, etc.

    We are in Colorado and the rule for commercial vehicles in "Intrastate commerce" start at a GVWR/combo of 16,001 lbs. So our guys do not have to fill out logbook unless the are CDL traveling outside the 100 air mile and commercial outside the 150. Or do not start and end their day from the same hub. The big question i have been confused on is the "working over 12 hours" rule. Just wondering if that is for CDL and commercial or just CDL.
