Plus, how many of those items that are made in the US are simply assembled in the US with component parts made elsewhere? Usually China, but not exclusively.

    Coffey Thanks this.

I try to buy products made anywhere besides China.

Made in USA is first choice, but as stated most made in USA stuff is made with imported materials.

Pure breed USA products are hard to find.

I can say that the 30 round bales of hay I sold and hauled yesterday were 100% MADE IN THE USA! Lol.
They were even cut, raked, baled, and loaded by 45 plus year old US made equipment. They were loaded on a 1950 Fruehauf trailer 100% US made that was pulled by a 100% US made 1967 Peterbilt.

Because it's nationalist, protectionist, and next stop, political.

I buy US if it's the best quality. Otherwise, somebody else gets the job.

    Gotta keep them honest somehow.

    Coffey Thanks this.

I can remember lots of things that used to be labeled made in USA or Canada, until the 80's when "Free Trade Agreements" became a reality and manufacturers started moving their production to places where labour was cheap.

Where I live there was a healthy garment industry and many manufacturers, not so much these days.

I still buy US or CDN made goods, if I can find them.
Usually more money but higher quality and rare as hen's teeth in this day and age.

To me US and Canadian made were always one in the same. The quality and spec was always spot on.

That's not Chippewa then. Much of their line is from China. I have 2 Chinese pairs and 4 American pairs of loggers and I really hate to say it but the foreign ones outlast the domestics on my feet anyway.

It is not political to want to support local buisnesses instead of cheaply made crap. How about we all try to stick to the intent of the OPs thread.

nredfor88, Coffey and AM14 Thank this.
