The biggest thing I want from this, is shutting down Russian speaking double brokering Landstar brokers

So what’s going to happen two years from now when they don’t see this huge increase in rates and they’re still not swimming in cash? Then whose fault will it be? Then who will they want to put more regulations on?

I think most of them will be out of business long before the two year mark.

I think the brokers siphon off way more than their fair share.

But what rule exactly do you place to correct that situation?

Direct customers does away with the entire issue.

But what happens to your direct customer when you can't make it for whatever reason?

Now I would love to see some federal #### probing however.

I know people talked about realtors in the other threads. Maybe a straight percentage system? With the broker informing shipper/driver of that percentage. Just a thought.

Who decides the percentage? Or is it up to the trucker to decide if they’re ok with whatever percentage the broker is taking?

Let’s say 15% becomes the standard. Broker discloses the rate from the shipper is $4k. They initially list the load for $3400. They’re not going to take the first truck for $3400. They’ll let it sit there and take calls on it and let truckers bid it down until someone steps out of the running.

I'm guessing it'd push it back on the shipper. Just like it us on the home seller.

Broker says I'll get this moved for 3400. I get 15% for my commission. Meaning on top. Let's shippers pick brokers who charge a lower percentage. Let's drivers know the price is exactly what the shipper is paying. Again just a thought.

I understand what you’re saying. All I’m saying is that they won’t let the first guy to call have the load. They’ll let the truckers bid it down and the broker will keep the rest, like now.
