Its just frustrating. I haven't even been laid off a month and I'm already going ####### crazy. I don't understand how folks can make a career out of welfare.

I tell ya'll one thing. If I move back to BC I'm switching to automotive. Just looking at online job postings they're paying about $5/hour better than HD on average.

    G13Tomcat and magoo68 Thank this.

They have to, the BS in Automotive is unreal lol. However, the BS in HD has accelerated 100X in the last 10 years.

    AModelCat Thanks this.

If you've been born in Canada and only know English, then that's why you keep applying and/or send resumes and get no replies. You've been scammed so they can use your paperwork to file and possible show as proof that they've been searching for workers here locally. But of course they haven't, they've just been mining for their next batch of LMIA permits awarded to them by the government. You'll see tons of ads on the government job boards. Those are the same companies that have been running the same ads for years now. Yes, some are new as well. But don't bother with those. That's a company's main way of proving they've been looking, and keep the government happy because gosh, yes they have, and on our wonderful boards. They get most of their new drivers straight from *mm*gr*mt agencies. I know 4 guys that each have over 30 years of experience, that can't find a job. I know more that have given up entirely. I myself would've blown out of here already, but I can't talk the wife into leaving BC. I'd be happy with 20 acres, and pull grain or north/south somewhere on the prairies.

BC is definitely a hard sell. Wages still lag behind Alberta and the cost of living is an easy 20% more.

Plus the jobs all seem to be in the lower mainland and honestly, who wants live anywhere near Vancouver?
