I’ve often wanted to the same. Paint it flat black. I like the vinyl idea, expensive, but so is paint. Even my white Trucks threw a mean glare. Be sure to clean all that wax off first, almost a DYI, with a little help from the wife. I like to hear mine complain, “ I didn’t sign up for this” Lol.
Hood glare

I have a free fix for you. Lower your seat.
I've been driving 379 for 22 years and this is the first time I've heard of this. My hood is polished to perfection and never had this problem. You must sit with your head inches away from the headliner to get glare that bad.Blue Zombie Trucker, 650cat425, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
The Big Boys do it...
Polarised sunglasses might help in the short term.
I think it would look good on a truck.Blue Zombie Trucker and spindrift Thank this. -
LOL...I'm 6'3" with a lo pro seat. You want me to have a recessed, floor mounted seat?? And based upon other posts and threads, I'm not the only one.Blue Zombie Trucker, Roberts450 and SmallPackage Thank this.

With the Pete Unilite cabs (1954-72) and 1100 cabs (1973-87) you sit up high above the hood even with the seat deflated and as close to the floor as it could go. Because the seating position is more foreward than the 379. You sit back behind the center to 3/4 of the door in the 379. On the others you are dead center with it. Puts you closer to the dash, windshields and hood. Makes a big difference sometimes with different size drivers.spindrift Thanks this.

I'm short and can't avoid it in the 389 I drive. Sometimes it's better with the seat way up.
Been thinking about something like bed liner, if they make it in colors, I'd like white. Same with the drop visor sending out death beams at certain times, I don't want to hurt people.
I'm beginning to hate shiny anything. -
Seriously, sunglasses. Seems a lot easier?

Plasti dip! That's what I used in my avatar photo
Its about 20$ a can, sticks to everything without prep (just wipe it down with windex or something before) I used 4 cans on my hood and it looks good after a year. Best of all, the stuff peels off like latex for when its time to redo.
I don't have much hood glare on my hoodless vulva, but it looks sweet and is cheap and easy.Blue Zombie Trucker Thanks this. -
Most times thats not enough. Ever try looking at the sun or a welding arc with “just sunglasses” on??spindrift Thanks this.

Welding, way to often I'm afraid
