Conceal Carry?

Shootings are up lately.
Been watching since it zeroed on Jan 1 2020, 225 to 250 incidents during any 72 hour period, recently over 300 in same time span.

Excluding suicides, just deaths and injuries, there's about 17,000 incidents this year of which about 500 are defensive use, of which many are cross referenced and show up as accidental or other as well.

Good guys with guns is more a fantasy than a reality.

Good guys with guns don't get reported as much.
These stats are like asking AAA how many flat tires there are in a year. AAA is called and changes lots of tires but many more are simply changed by the owner.
My sister had a male roommate go nuts and try to get into her bedroom. She had a gun so he stopped. We moved her out the next day. Why call the police? He stopped when he realized she was armed. What proof would she have had that he did anything. But she would be admitting to brandishing a gun.

 

A friend of mine has a 21 yr old son that was working in a convenience store when it got robbed. After the robbers left, he called the police and they gave him a case number.

 

Fortunately for me, I live in a place that doesn't have a gun problem, no fear, no paranoia, I like it that way.

 

I'll will take a chance on this, and guess that you have a police department, probably covered by a sheriffs department and oversight of some sort of state police also. What purpose do they serve, why do they even need to exist? What a waste of taxpayers dollars in such a place.

Perhaps it is not a gun problem but a people problem?

So nobody in Canada has ever been shot by a bad guy with a gun?

 

Not surprising, he's lucky he was able to call after the fact. Many times now, perps will just kill you because they can.

How folks can call violent crime a "gun problem" instead of calling it out for what it is, a criminal problem is beyond me.

Why is it always the same folks that call violent crime a "gun problem" are the same ones always clamoring for minimal jail time, no bail, probation, parole, early release, catch & release, etc.

A true measure of a civilized society is to see how they treat the violent criminal predators, help their victims, and protect it's citizens...

 

We have a few shootings a week, a massacre every 10 years or so, hunters shooting other hunters or a farmer's livestock, mostly bad guys shooting other bad guys or piss't off drunks and the odd vigilante shooting friends, neighbours and family members, nothing compared to what goes on in the USA on any given day, casualties are minimal, overall.
