Reading this post , and imagining where he came from he thinks he hit the lottery, The mother lode of opportunity! Lol.
If it works For you and your happy , that’s all that matters to you. I’d prefer $1800 to $2000
a week clear and be home every night and let someone else worry about trucks that breakdown , burn fuel and depreciate.
If owning a truck was so profitable , they’re would be no lease purchase or owner operators.
Lease to carriers . They’re would only be company trucks. Companies don’t care about owning trucks , they care about the profit the equipment can generate . If they can find someone to pay all the expenses and take all the risk and they can skim the profit off the top and give you a little bit to keep you afloat to keep the profit coming in to them. They consider that hitting the lottery.
If you breakdown all the hours you spend in that truck being in it 24 hours a day for weeks at a time
To make a $1000 your probably making less than minimum wage per hour and selling your whole life to that company to make them money. As far as the truck , it will be worn out when your done and they will probably “ lease “ you another one to pay off and wear out and the cycle never stops. If you were clearing $2500-$3000 a week working as hard and being away weeks at a time it might be worth it for a few years if you invested it in real estate that would eventually produce income for you so you could leave that situation. A $1000 -$1300 a week , not even close to being worth it.

Lease purchasing a 379 Peterbilt, OP says "Class of '99" on their profile. The 379 ended production in 2007, yet OP claims DEF is a profit thief?

 

Probably just doesnt know what kind of truck hes driving lol

Yeah DEF fluid is pretty cheap. It’s when the DEF system and DPF system breakdown it gets stupid expensive if it’s out of warranty.

 

Class of 99 means that he was born in 1999, happy birthday, keep driving that Pete looking cool on your stool,ever so neat in the seat of a Pete!,,

 

So how much is the lease payment on the truck? I'm going to take a wild guess and say (as well as pray my right nut away) you're paying for a 389 pete and not a 379?
