The load I am picking up had a pick up time of between 1500 today and 1800 tomorrow.
Delivery is set for 0500 the next day, and about 120 miles away.
(Yes, a crap load. Leave it to ECT to do things right.)
At ~1830 today I got an update message giving the trailer number.
So I'm wondering, if I had gotten there at 1500 would I have been waiting all that time for the load to be ready?
Hard to tell.
But I'm glad I decided to wait until tomorrow morning to pick it up.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
I got up ti MI for a day, then right back down to OH on a short load.
My current load is very short as well, and keeping me in OH.
These OH planners keep giving me the crap loads; they are probably giving all the good ones to their own people.
I had less than 1200 miles this week.
When I called my DM today she had noticed the same thing. She contacted a planner that she gets along with and my next load will give some decent miles and get me down to OK and out of the Columbus planning area.FerrissWheel, dptrucker and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
jurupa terminal.

have to deliver this load tomorrow morning in la habra ca.
thwn pick up another load in Irwindale ca and taking that to beaver utFerrissWheel Thanks this. -
I don't know how you do it, running the exact same roads day in and day out.
It really would drive me bonkers to the max.
I've been stressing just running up and down in and around OH for the past week.
Running GLR for the past month hasn't been too bad for me. It is the general area I like to run, and sometimes I get a load further out.
But getting stuck in a very small area for too long... I can't do it. It feels like being in prison with only a 8x10 room to move around in.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
mileage and pay is good.
am getting tired of staying in truck and not able to eat out.
though that is changing slowly.
this virus b.s. hasn't my run.
better than sitting which alot of drivers are doingMoosetek13 and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
I see both sides. Dedicated route gives you the ability to know it like tge back of your hand. But OTR let's you see different parts of the country. I'd like a bit of both. Gimne dedicated in the south during the winter. And OTR the rest of the time. Chains? We don't need no stinking chains. lol
dptrucker and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
Back in the saddle. 5 days off. My DM saw to it that everyone was told precisely where to shove thier complaints. Since the last time i went home i got screwed and it turned into just a 34.
Now waiting in Beaumont for my load since they want me to run to Show Low AZ Friday. Even officially on OTR i cannot escape the lowes vacuum.dptrucker and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Dixon, MO at the RR.
Nice day today except for several irritating drivers, and the pplans I was being sent.
Pick it up a day late but still get it there on time? No thanks. Hobby Lobby loads, both of them, and the second had even less time than the first.
My sister works at the IKEA across the street from Mall of America, and there was a credible threat for the mall yesterday that sent them all home. They were planning to fully reopen on Tuesday, but that seems unlikely now with all the violence in that area.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Show Low AZ. Will be in phoenix in a few hours. Probably for the weekend, since my one load i was gonna get got canceled.
I ended up running straight from Beaumont to Show Low.
Got two tires switched out on the trailer on the way in Phoenix. They were leaking. Didn't have enough time to make it all the way back after I got unloaded so I'm going to head there in about another hour.dptrucker Thanks this.
