What are the symptoms of your injector cups failing?

Bad injector cups cause fuel in the coolant, not coolant in the fuel. Injector cups do not even touch the injector. They will not cause a miss.
Shawn2130, Roberts450, lester and 1 other person Thank this. -

For a Cat engine, that’s odd for coolant to be in the fuel, as throughout the head, that the fuel flows through is at higher pressure than coolant. 60-100 psi vs 13 psi.
Our Volvo dump truck with a Volvo engine does have injector cup issues that puts coolant in the fuel and it’s trapped at the water/fuel filter causing loss of power, but that’s a different engine with different setup.lester Thanks this. -
I have a pre EGR 60 series Detroit it has around 900000 on the ECM but only 325000 on the head I’m getting pressure in the coolant tank and coolant in my fuel separator
Dealer says I need injector cups but that means the head has to come off how can I check if I only need injector o-rings instead of the cups. I have no visible smoke and it runs fine -
need to replace injector tubes, to replace o-rings. head must come off.
