Didn’t you recommend CFI? On the way to Ace Hardware to get chick starter, I looked over at the flea market where I was going to park my Cypress rig, and low-n-behold, sitting in the parking lot:
I feel I silent scream begin inside...

@G13Tomcat An RBI driver was getting out of his truck when I took that picture. He said if CFI is training new drivers, I needed to jump on it because they are a great company.
He also loves RBI (Robert Beard, Inc). Very happy with that regional dry van Lowes (mostly) account.Last edited: May 25, 2020

I hate threads that have no ending or resolution, so I'm letting you know what I decided, and that is to not go back to the kitchen remodeling business or take a trucking job right now. Twenty-five years heaving cabinets around is enough, and the gross profit margins just aren't there anymore to make the dealer side of my business worth it.
I am going to start a home repair business. I can make a nice living just doing what a contractor friend of mine turns away, and a big wig realtor whose kitchen I did two years ago says that the two handymen they use now are idiots, and she would give me tons of work. Small, simple repairs that need to get done ASAP before a closing pay very well. I've probably said, "sorry, I don't do small jobs" a million times in the past 25 years, and I could tell they were exasperated trying to find someone who did.
At the same time, I'm going to pursue a contractor license. The open book exam is simply an exercise in looking up things, but you can buy online courses that include rental of tabbed books.
I'm glad I didn't sell my trailer or tools.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -

I've had a few bad days (well, nights) and i'm about to turn this truckin shizzle over to the wife myself, she wants it so bad........ FOUR HOURS for roadside, because I didn't have a T bolt. And the smart wife bought me a 100$ bag for xmas .. and there they sat at home. Consider...consider.

I'll drop by now and again, but right now I've got chicks about to hatch and nowhere to put them. Building a new coop. Didn't come close to having everything done that I wanted before leaving, but now the pressure is off. I can start procrastinating again.G13Tomcat Thanks this.
