I am currently dealing with this issue. Started up a couple of days ago. What was the problem did you ever find out the cause?

I'm in Peoria right now same issue. Same result. Sitting at freightliner waiting for a test drive. They say nothing is wrong. I also have a transmission failure message popping up and it's stalling gears 1 to 3 while under a load. 4 to 7 gears kind of slip and jump. Looking at the previous message about it being a gear shift issue from p to n to drive. I'm wondering if I can shift through the gears a couple times on start before moving to help clear it up. Maybe I'm not being clean enough with my shifting. The transmission failure message i can sometimes clear up by bleeding the air lines. Anyways, im doubtful this place is going to help me. My next step is to get a load to the company terminal and get it worked on where people care. Or in proximity to any ways.

I began experiencing the same issue with my 2019 Freightliner Cascadia DD15 on Thursday en route to Arizona from Salt Lake. Don't know if the hills had anything to do with it, but regardless of the terrain it shouldn't be doing that. Basically saw 'starter blocked shift to neutral' pop up on the dash accompanied by more lights than you'd see on a Christmas tree. The RPM gauge was dancing around, and I would lose speed. I'd pull over as the truck would come to a slow stop and turn it off. No codes showing up. A triangle shows up next to MCM (motor control module I believe), butbthen when I click it, it says 'no faults detected.' This repeated itself a out 10 times that day. Finally, while rolling one time as it came up again, I shifted to neutral and then out it back into gear and switched it to manual driving driving mode, and it hasn't given me a problem since as long as it's in manual. In the brief time I spend pulling up to a light or at a fuel stop, I pop it in automatic. Hoping it won't give me an issue on my 1800 mile journey home so I can have my trusted mechanics check it out, as I feel taking it to Freightliner will give me the same experience some of you all had.

Anybody figure out a solution for this yet?

Issue seems to have been resolved. Dr8ve the truck for a week without an issue after Freightliner repaired it. The Freightliner dealership back home in Canada was able to trace the issue back to what they call the PT CAN Harness. It appeared to have rubbed up against something and started shorting out, causing the SCR system to stop communicating with the ECM at times. This would in turn give me the amber Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), the Check Engine Light, and Stop Engine warning, giving me a 30 second countdown to pull over and turn the engine off.

Anyway, here is the part and part number of what was replaced if it helps.

    Good luck!

Freightliner and their wiring harnesses. Either they're going to fritz out on you when they truck is new or 4-5 years later after baking in the engine compartment for 100s of thousands of miles.

PT CAN is the Power Train Controller Area Network. Essentially a high speed data link running at 667 kilobits per second (kps) running between the Common Powertrain controller (CPC), Motor Control Module (MCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM) and Integrated Predictive Powertrain Control (IPPC).

Worst part about losing the cruise in the 2021 Cascadia I'm assigned, which happens about 3/4ths of the time I start the engine, is our company has non-cruise governed at 62 and cruise governed at 65. As I roll down the interstate doing 62 in an 80 mph zone, I can't help but imagine the voice of one of the greatest rock stars of all time screaming out the modified lyric, "I can't do 62!"
