If they want to get rid of you there are two very easy ways.

First they will tell you they want to route you back to the home terminal.

Second (as opposed to above) they will put you up in a nice hotel room and repo the truck while you sleep.

See, I don't buy the low miles to starve you out. I can see too many drivers for the amount of work they have though.
A truck simply costs too much money to not be moving when there are much simpler and cheaper ways to get rid of an employee.
And yes, I know there are companies that will on purposely starve a driver, but I also think it's rare.

I want to drive for that company! Ok I will only get up to 25 mph with it in high gear.

That's what I thought, but I saw plenty of other drivers from my company getting loads. I counted every truck that came in the terminal, and nearly all of them were gone the next day while I was still sitting.

It's difficult to say because of the pandemic and the fact it was memorial's day weekend..I put in a request to go home for a few days so i could explore my options and look at other companies. if that happens again when I come back out im definitively finding something else

Careful. If you get too many jobs in a short period, no one will hire you. I speak from personal experience.

With me it was a message and then a phone call saying I had went over the "company speed limit"4 times in 2 days but they wouldn't discuss when and where all this happened, just terminated me from my lease.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

this is my first trucking company. I've been here maybe 8~10 months so hopefully if things turn sour that'll be enough to get into something else.

    #### that sucks. Im governed at 66 but I will let my speed rise to 75 when heavy going downhill. they never said anything about that. I do have 2 minor incidents(tiny scratch & broke hood mirror when backing) but that was months ago but its possible they could be holding that against me

They keep those in the "bank" for the future in case they want to use them against you

Notice the location of the radiator behind the 'firewall'; you get heat and A/C at the same time...

My Pappy drove one...5'8" with 'Popeye' arms & he said he had to put a foot in each corner of the 'dash' and grab one side of the wheel with BOTH hands to steer it....
