$666, that's the only reason why I remember the cost. All for 8 maybe 10 skids of coffee cups. I thank the trucking gods every day that I don't deal with lumpers anymore.

Lumpers are one of the main reasons we got rid of our vans and reefers.

    As a driver I don't pay it so I don't care.

Wait a minute, SOMEONE needs to pay it.... That affects profits.... That affects how much I can be paid! It's now part of the drivers problems too now. Lumpers gouging sucks.

I don't have to pay it either, but some O/O's who use brokers have to pay it first, then get reimbursed. I've always made it clear up front that I don't pay lumper fees, so they had better figure it out before I take the load. Convoy pays the fees, and all you do it call for a check code.

    alds Thanks this.

Buncha Jaimacans charged me $420 to unload food one time.

Found that pretty entertaining. Wasn't my money so didn't care about the bill :)

Think that was a Publix dc in Jacksonville couldn't swear on it though.

I had a $600 fee once. I was warned ahead of time that the consignee wouldn't take a comcheck. I knew I had $100 in my wallet and another $200 stashed in the truck so I figured I was good. While they unloaded I hoofed it a mile to the gas station that had an atm. On the plus side my company reimbursed both the atm and my bank fee.

$80. And I was pissed and yelled profanities. The next load was the same thing to the same DC. $120.

    Watermelons on a flatbed.

It was my first and only experience. Never had to pay for onions.
