    As long as a few trigger happy, blood thirsty police officers are not tried, found guilty of murder and given the death penalty, this epidemic of police killings will not end. Yes, it is an epidemic. Since the 9/11 attack until today, more US citizens have been killed by police inside America than have died WORLDWIDE as a result of international TERRORISM plus ALL WAR ZONE CASUALTIES COMBINED.

    The police in this country have one primary function, that is to preserve the status quo, meaning thereby, to protect and preserve the power and privilege of the ruling classes. The police are the guard dogs of the ruling class. The rulers, will obviously not muzzle their guard dogs. So we will never see policemen get the death sentence for cold blooded murder.

    We realize that it's difficult to discuss this topic without referring to the political and racial issues involved. There are several ongoing threads in the Politics Forum for those of you who are interested in discussing those aspects, but we really need to keep that stuff out of this thread if we're going to be able to keep it open.

    The last thing we want is for threads in our News Forum to turn into the type of pissing contests that we have in the Politics Forum, so that's why we try to keep that stuff out of these threads.

    Basically, when I read a thread and have to scroll up to the header bar to be sure I'm not in Politics, it's a sign that things are getting out of hand. That's where we're at here, so let's try to keep that stuff out of this one, please. Thanks, guys.
