Have any of you members seen the video going around on facebook right now showing looters pulling bigscreen tv’s out of double stacked shipping containers on a moving freight train?
Driver of ours sent it to me in a text but doesn’t know when and where it happened.

A train of double stack containers and they just happened to pick the one with big screen tvs? Sounds like someone had some inside info.
Swedish Chef, buzzarddriver, drvrtech77 and 8 others Thank this. -
Wasn’t sure if it was even recent with all the regurgitated stuff that keeps cycling around.Doealex Thanks this. -
Also looks like one guy is still in that top container. Wonder where the train was going. They pick up speed faster than you think. Not an easy spot to jump from. -
bzinger Thanks this.

Who wants tv? Container full of weapons would be smarter.

This has been going on for a long time. Sometimes railroads have slow speed spots and thieves learn where they are. In some places they will roll tires between the cars to disconnect air hoses and put the train in emergency from lost air so it will stop quickly, then they'll storm it and loot.
It's been going on since before there were containers.
It's a guessing game on contents, I helped a railroad cop close a piggyback trailer that had been busted into so that train could continue, was full of rubber gloves. Edit: That was back in the mid-90's.
Those deals at the local flea market might have "fallen off the truck off the train". Railroads are self-insured.Last edited: Jun 2, 2020
