Whats up with heavy haul trucks setup with 18speeds and C12 or C13 engines? A lift axle and a little motor always throws me off.

Weight is the only reason I’d do it. I can’t recall the torque on those Cat’s but nowadays you can get a MX13 or a DD13 in the 500 horse range and 1850 torque.

Whats odd about the pic? Except inconsistent piles. And my little 12.7l does just fine.

May I ask what the work load, pay and conditions are when you are leased onto an elevator(s)? I understand this is a generalized question and there are many variables in this equation but, what are your thoughts and opinions?

Heavy always, long waits to load or unload usually. Getting up early to just go get in line. Being happy to have a pre load you drag outta route home just to get one off early in the am. Pay low to moderate depending on season.

Get used to hearing it's not bad if you get x number of loads a day....which that number will always be just out of reach.

My Dad said years ago boy if there ain't no money in the first one what in the hell makes you think there will be more in the 2nd or 3rd one?
I figured out just what he meant

Usually based on a ton mile rate. Time generally not factored in, unless it is an unusually long amount of time all the time.
One old feed mill I went to always took 5 hours to unload, so we got a higher rate for that one. It was built when a five ton truck was big.
