Here's a couple pictures (I didn't take them) It's a 2000 with a Thermo-King Magnum Whisper unit that's also been completely gone through by Thermo-King.

Gears- You finance or buy it out right?

I hope you plan on hauling frozen only as that's the only thing the magnum is good for. They have a rotary compressor and when it goes (oh and they do) it's $6k for the compressor. Double the normal price. It's not a very good unit for produce as it tends to freeze the top boxes. The magnum is designed for -20 in 110*F heat. It's basically a ice cream unit.

I have seen trailers lately that have each axle sliding either independently or as a pair. You can put them together like a tandem, then slide the tandem like you would normally, or set it as a normal spread. Very neat idea, but I would worry about the complexity of the system. More parts to break, IMO.
