I just called a UPS store and the lady told me she would take a pic of your mail and send it to you so you know what you have in your box. Makes sense because they do ask for your phone # and email address when you sign up.
I get about 2 or 3 boxes a month to my UPS box, so they know me. I'm confident that I could get them to tell me what's in my box if I called up and asked.
I work up near Dallas so I get my mail there. I am a resident of Escapees though, so my driver license address is
187 Rainbow Drive # (four digit space number
Livingston TX 77399.
I have peeked into the Escapees mailroom. It's a pretty big operation. And the customer service is superb. They will tell you me over the phone what mail I have.

I'm going home next week. I'll drop by the local UPS and see what they say.
Escapees might be something I'll need in the future. I'm seriously considering selling my house and getting an RV. -
USPS has something called informed delivery. They scan your mail (done anyway for processing) and send you an email in the morning showing what's being delivered that day. That combined with a PO box I think will get you what you need.
Here is the URL to sign up for informed delivery.

"Legal issues using out of state address"
"Tax, drivers license implications."
"No legal issues unless your intent is to deceive where your true residency is"
"Trying to avoid those issues not create them"
When people use words like this, I feel like I am living in a police state.
We have a UNIVERSAL mail system. The word UNIVERSAL is carved in stone. A person doesn't have to be fearful about getting their mail sent to them. As long as you have the 2 forms of ID, you can't be denied a post office box any more than you can be denied a roll of stamps. If you want to have five different mail boxes in 5 different states it is nobody's business but yours.Last edited: Jun 2, 2020
MidwestResident Thanks this. -
That sounds good, and very much worth checking into further. Thanks for the info.
Three potential issues, that I'll check into. 1) I stay out months, and not sure if they will store that much mail. 2) I had a USPS mailbox before and it was inundated with other peoples mail that previously used the box. That would fill up my box even more. 3) I doubt they would open mail upon my request, if something that looks important comes in. But that might be a minor issue, the cover tells the story I think, and lets me know if I need to contact someone. -
1. You can get fairly large boxes.
2. One benefit of UPS Store is they are franchised. That means the owner is usually one of the people there and likely willing to work with you. They also might be able to toss obvious junk mail like flyers and coupons that take up a lot of space. I used to collect an aunts mail before she found out about one of the RV mail places. I could easily fit 6 months of mail in a shoe box once the flyers are tossed.
3. Likely will not for liability, but it's worth looking into as a service. If you have someone to check your mail maybe you can get a PO box close to where they work/live and ask them to empty it every other week or so and just get the mail from them when in town. -
Who do you drive for?
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.! -
What kind of mail do you get other than bills that you need to receive in hard copy form? Anything important is all available online. I receive and pay ALL of my bills online. My check is direct deposited. My mail gets sent to my sister's house. 95% of it goes in the trash. As mentioned above, USPS sends me images of my mail daily to my email. Obviously not the contents, if something appears important I have my sister open it and text a picture to me. I really have no need to get my hands on any of my mail immediately. Pick it up every 10-12 weeks when I am home. Usually throw away 95% of the 5% my sister hangs onto for me.
