Should be ok as long as you don't have a bunch of recent tickets or accident. And at least 2 years OTR experience.

That's good, are they going to have you go with a mentor, they usually do that to familiarize new drivers with the company.

Yes. I'm good with it. Had to do it at my current job too 11 years ago.

Because we do exclusively automotive freight when the auto companies shut down we had nothing to do. Just got back last week and things are getting back to normal. They are paying 10c extra right now 58c per mile for solos but I think this is temporary

Been researching companies in SE MI. Looking at switching gears this fall once the world quiets down a bit. Point seems like it may be a good fit. You seem to have a good grasp on the situation there, so I hope you could answer a few Q’s.

Do solos do only Laredo, or will I go to El Paso & Mission too?
Will I route myself, choose where & when to fuel?
I assume trucks are assigned Cascadias. What year? How long are they kept before being replaced?
What speed are trucks governed at?
Can I choose to run during daytime or night?
What is % of drop & hook? Average weight?
Does company use prepass/ezpass/pikepass? Is authorization needed for toll roads?

The next two areas are important factors for me:
You mentioned a “trainer ride-along”. Did you mean two drivers-two trucks, or riding together in one truck like a rookie?
Health insurance - PPO or HMO? Deductibles/cost? Are you aware Point’s website states insurance starts after 30 days, not 90?

Looking back on your past post on the subject, I appreciate the detail of your info. These are the only things I really had questions about. I appreciate any clarity on theses issues. Thanks.
