    make ELD's optional for drivers with excellent CSA scores, with no repercussions from the company either way they go.

    We're regulated, why aren't the brokers? They make us sign away the transparency rights granted by 49 CFR §371.3 and are keeping too much of the rate

    I think fuel should come down as well, stay on par with gasoline

    I’m ok with ELD’s being optional no problem there.

    There is transparency in brokering , you as the carrier can see the $ if you ask for it. That is the law.

    As far as fuel goes that is simple economics , supply and demand. I made my best profits when fuel was the highest.

    There isn't as much transparency as you think. If we want to haul for brokers, we fill out a carrier packet, and agree to the terms in the packet.

    In there is a clause to waive 49 CFR §371.3 and relinquish the right to see the info

    So it sounds like your saying you don’t feel you have much power in the arrangement ? Have you thought about not working for brokers ?

    Right now, I don't have a choice, as I'm still a company driver. With the places I've gone, trying to haul direct, I'm told they have contracts with brokers.

    The places we can haul direct from, the broker pays more than the shipper.

    I don't get that logic

    So the broker pays more than the shipper you said , that would indicate your getting a better deal from the broker. You said you don’t have a choice. So your options are limited which means you have to make choices with the options you are offered. Life is all about making choices. The smartest people make the best choices.
