Bought a truck past Saturday that turns out has dyed diesel in it. I was changing out filters and updating maintenance and discovered it today. I have about 150 gallons in there, not plated yet. Do I drain the tanks? Or what. Should I call the guy i bought it from or call anyone else. Suggestions.

Sell it to a farmer, then re-fill with clean OR just take a chance and run it down and re-fill. It's not very often you see the dippers dipping, especially right now with cheap diesel...

I've been going for 7yrs myself and never been tested. Just trying to do the right thing here. Figured I'll drain it and give it to a farmer. Or bon fire.

How much residual dye remains when fueling up?
-
Only been checked once 30 years ago in Michigan. I'd roll with it .

Was it sitting for any length of time before you bought it? If so, might want to take the opportunity to drain the fuel and clean the tank as a preventive measure for dirt and algae build up in the tank.

I've been checked twice.
Once in 1994 in Alberta and once in 1998 in Washington.D.Tibbitt, blairandgretchen and mojo2010 Thank this.
