Hoovestol bought our company in 2013. Some changes I didn't like, some I did.
My understanding is that all the Pat Salmon operations people will remain. So the think it will mostly be business as usual.
One thing I can think of is turning as many routes into relays as possible. For example Indianapolis to Charlotte. Driver from Charlotte goes half way, so does Indy. Swap, go back, deliver, go home. Wayne Hoovestol likes to get as many drivers home daily as possible. -
I like the being home daily part but I am running a team run. I am out 3 days and home 4 days which gives me more time to hang out with my grandkids.

I liked hauling the mail. You got a time to leave, a time to arrive, no BS about it. The schedules are tight, ain't no time to drag your feet. The weather no matter how bad, you are going. If you go into a hub, you will help unload and load, but no problem, the mail is in cages or carts on wheels so you push them off or on.
Isn't Midwest now owned by the same company who owns Pat Salmon and Eagle? I am trying to think of their name. Aren't they are changing the name over to 10 Road or something like that.
