Fixing to mount new 24.5 steers, on the W9 and was wondering if you guys use the bead bags for balancing? I’m wanting to mount them this afternoon or tomorrow(Sunday) and the tire shops are closed. Have you guys ever substituted anything else for bead bags?

Spin balance with weights for me..
I hated the beads......actually it was a powder that I used.... brand name equal maybe..Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -
I’ve had good luck with balancing beads on all my tires for at least 4 years. I’m going to replace my steer tires as well on Monday. The ones on are 2 Chinese Tires that were installed in June of 2018. OTR from 2019 until today and FL intrastate from June 2018 until January 2019. They are at 5/32 evenly all the way around. All my drives were installed same time and are also Chinese and are sitting at around 7/32.

Spin balance and balance rings for me.
I've had internal balance material plug up the valve stem -
I've used ceramic Dynabeads for years in my trailer and drives. They are very effective but, they do have their drawbacks.
Centramatics have been on the steer tires for longer and they do perform. Steer tire woes vanished after install. I will likely remove the beads from the trailer tires in favor of centramatics. Beads can stay in drives for a while.tommymonza Thanks this. -
Anybody use bubble balancers anymore? -
No, as per Dynabeads and Centramatic spin balancing first is not necessary or recommended.
