Hey yall, wanting info on TMC, I am new to the trucking industry. I will be separating from the Marine Corps here in about 2 months and am looking to drive for TMC. I just graduated from Troops 2 Truckers. TMC seems to sound pretty good to me, but I have been reading the post on here. I want to go with them because they offer the OJT from the G.I. Bill, any info about the company would be good, and if anybody has experance with the G.I. Bill would be great.

All TMC drivers only. The new thing the big man is doing who disagrees with it? If we are looking at fuel going up along with idle time in the winter don't you think we should go back to the old program of plus 2 or 3 if fuel milage was up and idle time was low?

Present TMC DRIVERS ONLY PLEASE.. I am fixing to go through the truck driving school, simply because thats how most companies are hiring new drivers these days, i have managed to stay away from the trucks this long but its callin my name entirely to loud for me to ignore. I would really like to know what Present TMC drivers input is on working for the company. Like Avg. miles u all are gettin/ week. and weather Percentage base / or mileage base pay is better. Idle time etc. I come from a long line of truck drivers and have heard only a little about the company over the years. I myself dont pay attention to these whiny ars peeps on this thread because, well, i know how some drivers are, an i pay no mind to them. But i would really appriciate your input on this and if u think this would be a good decision for me to go for TMC. I love flatbeddin, my favorite, i love PETERBILTS.. again my favorite. Beside the equip. Just lemme know if any think this would be a good move into the driving world. Again i greatly appriciate any and all input BUT, from PRESENT TMC employees only...

    THANKS GUYS

things are very strange at tmc right now, all trucking companies are cutting back and tmc is no different.

TMC Has been deliberately taking themselves back a notch into the competitions range and becoming another face in the crowd rather than doing what they have been doing for years and setting themselves apart by taking better care of their drivers than the competition did, when i drove for them we were spoiled and i'll admit that.. Lately the only thing in the way of being spoiled anymore is the nice trucks, most everything else is being slowly taken away.

The best place to get information about TMC is to check out the TMC section in "motor carriers, the inside scoop".

You will find more information there than you will on this area. Good luck guys.

As with any co esp a training co I listen very little to the complaints of newbies. (sorry guys don't take it personal, but your are breaking in and not adjusted. You have nothing to compare with) I do take heed when the majority of the exp hands signed on start complaining. Not all will be legit, but it raises the red flag.

What they should be doing is working on ways for both the company and the driver to make money...they appear to be concentrating too much on the company making money, and that leads to unhappy drivers.

Unhappy drivers lead to...well, you know where that leads.

Exactly. By continually hauling cheap freight and building materials they seriously limit themselves, however, it's their own fault for losing most of the good paying freight that they once hauled because of the whole training company thing.. They were sending in guys with 6 months or less to haul machinery, etc. And have lost alot of business that way.

Plus, they are taking away their drivers efficiency which creates a big burden for the drivers and the company itself.. You can haul one load for 1,000 or haul two 500 dollar loads in the same amount of time, i mean, either way you look at it the bottom line is going to stay the same.. but the only way the latter is going to be possible is by giving drivers the efficiency that they need, and sadly that's what they are focusing the most on taking away.
