At first Raider Express was a good company. I got plenty of miles and no layovers. since then the whole company has gone to Hell! I lay over after almost each load I deliver. They can sit you for the 1st 24 hours for free so they will not hesitate to lay you over a few times a week after your empty. They hate for you to come home and most time will get you home late. They always book to many loads on Christmas and will beg you to stay out. You can have time off only on Thanksgiving or Christmas, you must pick one or the other you cant be off both. But which ever you choose they will try to make you feel guilty for going home on one. Ive been there long enough to know they could care less about your Family! They ##### if you Idle your truck in the Winter time. They have taken all pre pass and easy pass out of all trucks. there safety record sucks so bad that when you cross a scale be ready for a DOT inspection. They have too many old and in bad shape reefers that brake down way to often. they have the slowest trucks on the road. 60 mph and they are talking about cutting them back. you average about 2200 mile a week. Oh, but they WILL hire students and felonies and you can have 5 moving violations or 5 speeding tickets. No problem you can get hired there! they are the biggest Bottom feeders in the Industry. :biggrin_25510:

So you reccommend them to new drivers huh? Don't sweat them. Running operations like that and they are soon to go under, like so many others have.

Yeah, that's good news for some of those I've seen posting lately. This should be a sticky.

It is a true ##### opperation, full of gimicks and tricks. you will lose your trk if you take off. you get hassled over idle time and fuel consumption. their payroll isnt about what i can do for you its about what I cant! they lack in communications with drivers. Im surprised their in business, still.. there trucks you dont c much anymore. Its just a matter of time.. No one needs a job that bad to be hassled by them, no one wether new or seasoned.

I worked for the Pirate Express but they paid me in gold coins and the Captain only had one leg, had a parrot and wore the eye patch.

-A motley crew we was in me younger days.

Amazing I keep finding these posts about them. I should have read these BEFORE I went to work for them. I now see that what happened to me was not an "incident". It is a pattern and it is their habit. They were shooting 20% on getting my checks paid correctly. I told them that if someone only did 20% of their paperwork for them, they would fire them. They seem to be , in my opinion based on my experience and what I see here, a very underhanded company. I believe a company that oprates in this way should not be in business. SO I will do my part......

Maybe back in them days but with all my research and a lot of reading reviews over a few months Raider is not a bottom feeder. Raider seems like a pretty good place to work. The people that do most of the complaining about any company are the ones that don't want to work or the job just isn't what they thought it would be. Anyone don't like there job then move on if its that bad. Just sayin. Lol

They haven't changed. Opened their own driving school to screw even more people. But there are always the eternal optimists who are going to beat the system. Been watching them file through here for many yrs. Normally quit or are back warning others about getting screwed. Good luck. If you are in Azle I have no idea why you would go to Raider. There are so many oil patch outfits that will train and pay you real money all over Parker, Wise, Tarrant, etc. Weatherford College has driving school that you can probably get into for free. Have to drive to Mineral Well for class each day.
