You are not responsible for grade of product. Doesn't mean a broker won't deduct for it.

Find a 'BLUE BOOK" and look up shipper's , receiver's and broker's reputation. Odds are you will be OK unless the companies you dealt with are crooks.
Welcome to the World of Produce. It ain't for the weak-hearted.truckdriver31 and feldsforever Thank this. -
Find a " BLUE BOOK " and find out the reputation of shipper. receiver, and broker. If they are reputable, odds are you will be paid. The problems noted on your BOL are usually related to a shipper problem. Also, if you check, I would bet the market price of onions was going down.
Welcome to the Produce World, it ain't easy sometimes.truckdriver31 Thanks this. -

I have a reefer and decay is a common problem. Mold tells me, they were like that when loaded. Pictures always help before you leave the shipper. I ALWAYS, follow up a phone conversation with an email. I hope it doesn't turn into a claim. Do you have documentation that you were ok to leave the receiver?truckdriver31 Thanks this.
