My guess would be since it's going to a military installation they want to reduce the number of trucks entering. About all I can figure. Haven't had to take my truck on a military installation yet, from what I hear you better have all your i's dotted and t's crossed. Security and all.

I would imagine so, you could pack a lot of explosive in a tractor trailer, heck put it in the back of a dump truck and throw some dirt on top. I've heard it's a nightmare to get on NAVSTA Bremerton when one of the multi-billion dollar aircraft carriers is moored up. Same thing with airports. Terrorists suck.

Back during my heavy hauler days, one of my coworkers at the time tried to sneak through Greencastle, PA after curfew with a tank on a lowboy. He was arrested and jailed, with bail set at $50,000. The owner had to go there with $5,000 to get him out of jail. Pennsylvania will incarcerate you in a hurry if you decide to act stupid there.

Very expensive education. I haven't hauled much OD freight yet but I am scared of the sort of thing you just mentioned. As a O/O leased to Landstar I can't afford that nonsense to start with and second of all Landstar would cancel my lease faster than I could tell you about it. And then I would have to go back to work. I'm getting spoiled at LS, when I was independent I worked a LOT harder for the same money that I make now.

C-15 with 825 H.P. ??? And how does the 18 speed Road Ranger handle the torque, isn't it good for max of 2200 ft. lb ? I smell a H.P. rat.

So why do they use Macks to haul the heavy loads in AU and it holds the world record?
