I fully agree. Ever have to go anywhere tight that trucks this long were never meant to? Well too bad, suck it up, you'll do it anyway. Just try to run up the curb as straight as you can to keep from damaging the steer tires. Same for coming back down. As long as you don't hit any signs or poles nobody could care less what you run over. Maybe best to avoid the grass if you can though.farmerjohn64 and Coffey Thank this.

Even though I was in a bobtail I decided the curb was better than being out in the middle of the road with oncoming traffic; I probably would’ve had a heart attack by now trying to do your jobCoffey Thanks this.

Trust me the top bunk is still warm as hell even with the ac on full blast; I’d feel as snug as a bug in a rug if it were freezing outside, thus lowering the temperature inside, while in my fluffy blanketnot4hire and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

Help trainer keep talking about the good old days of rest areas with a weird smileWasted Thyme, Hazmat Cat and farmerjohn64 Thank this.

I’m trying to think where I went wrong before hitting the curb, some adjustment and/or better setup to make the turn; I turned as far left as I could and almost headed straight for the curb

If it a real tight road take up half of the left lane befor turning once you have a trailer hook up you might want to wait until the opposite traffic is clear enough to enter that area of spacefarmerjohn64 and Tb0n3 Thank this.

Here's a bit of reality for you: You will spend a lot of time in oncoming traffic. Don't be afraid of encroaching, but take it slow and try to make eye contact and properly telegraph your path. If you need to be in another lane for a turn or to back off a road you have to OWN it. If a cop comes by and sees you slowly swinging out of a tight area, or backing into one they'll more likely than not turn on their lights and help you by directing or stopping traffic.tinytim, Truckermania, TripleSix and 4 others Thank this.
