UPDATE: I take back my recommendation regarding Prime. Their lease is a total scam. I received my final settlement from them today and was charged over $4000 for various bull crap. They made sure they took all of my reserve funds plus a little more. I was expecting to get back thousands of dollars. The truck I turned back into them was in perfect condition. It was bad enough that they had over $1200 per week and fixed expenses to lease their truck. But then they took every penny I had set aside or truck expenses. Make a long story short, do not do a Prime lease. There are far more reputable lease programs out there with much lower expenses and much bigger profit margin’s. For me this was just an experiment and now I know the truth. Now I’m one more guy telling people to stay the hell away from Prime and they’re leasing program. They are plenty of other companies to choose from.

I just signed on with a reputable midsize carrier to be a company driver. $.53 per mile including deadhead. Back to running flatbed like God intended me to do. Hauling only PODS containers from distribution center to distribution center. If you’ve ever hauled them before you know they load and unload very quickly and they’re all lightweight. The company told me they’ve got more work than they can handle. Will soon see. After I’ve been with them for a while and see that they’re working out great I’ll disclose their name. But if it doesn’t work out this time I’ll be reactivating my operating authority and starting my truck back up. So I tried the lease operator thing with Prime that was a complete failure so now we’re going to see what it’s like being a regular company driver. I don’t have to argue about the rate or the dead head or where it’s going or detention or worry about all the many truck expenses. Just drive, collect a paycheck and move on. We’ll see how it goes.

Did you not take detailed pics of the truck before turning it in?

Yes I did but they charged me for excess tire wear and excess mileage. They also charged me three hours labor to take out and replace three bolts under the passenger seat where my iPad stand was located. It could not have taken me more than five minutes. They also claimed I owe them excess fuel tax. But there was nothing excessive about anything on the truck. I wasn’t with them long enough. They just made up an excuse to keep all my money.

I can't believe the Prime cheerleaders haven't shown up to tell us how great Prime is.
