She’s a real beaut Clark.
The new trailer combined with your cheaper insurance should make you king of the cars, did you actually move to NY or just moved your business address there?singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Oh hey, @24kHotshot
How long is your new wagon.?
Reason I ask is looks to have a real shallow kingpin setting like my step..
I think you're a FL resident, unless you moved. Did you make sure the KPRA *kingpin to rear axle is 41' or less if over 48' trailer length.?clausland Thanks this. -
Yup, moved back to NY.singlescrewshaker Thanks this.
-
She's a 53. I didn't check the KPRA myself but I asked the manufacturer about before the build. I'll check it tomorrow myself.
Moved back to NY for good. FL was a mistake.singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Kingpin to Rear Axle Maximums – Big Truck Guide
10-4, 53 footer!! You may have seen this before.? Its a pretty good reference.
FL looks like may be 41' to center of tandem..
LoL, can't fault you there.
I've been here Manatee county, FL since '84. Gets a little worse ever year. More cookie cutter housing developments, & less open pasture every year. Used to be a nice little island community with cottages, & working class folk. They've almost all been pushed out & bulldozed in favor of million $ rental units, & snowbirds..
Sucks..
Not to be too nosy, but did your insurance rates go down at all not being based out of FL.?
I need to shop around again. I started with progressive in 2013. It was $5100 my 1st year in business!! It has steady climbed every year, & is double what it was 7 years ago!! 0 tickets, 0 claims. One bad level 2 inspection, they got me for a chaffing air line which is completely bogus. It was a fix it warning, which are much harder to fight vs a actual ticket, through the Data Q system. Getting a fine would have been better..24kHotshot and clausland Thank this. -
My FL insurance was $36,000. It is now $14,000. I'm pretty sure my FL insurance broker screwed up and insured me as a 10 car stinger when he should have insured me as a gooseneck car hauler, but even if he would have insured me as a gooseneck it would have been $25,000.Last edited: Jun 14, 2020
singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Looks nice, is it about the same dimensions as a shipshe trailer? Looks kinda like one of those. Btw can you fit the 3rd sprinter on the very front?
24kHotshot and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
I dont know what the dimensions on the Shipshewana is but this one is 102" wide and 53 foot long
bottom deck is 35" and top deck is 56".
Those sprinters in the pick are both high top 9'3" and measured out to 12'6" at the highest point. I think those are 144wb and for sure i can fit a third with over hang.clausland and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
SOB!! I got to say, had I been quoted $36k a year for insurance I would have had to lease on somewhere. No way I could have afforded that. Glad you made it through that fiasco & got your rate down..
I'm still pissed I'm at $9500 per year!!
clausland and 24kHotshot Thank this.
