I agree 100%. It should never go as far as it does. But unfortunately, sometimes it still does.

 

You know...if the officers were bigger and stronger, perhaps one more or two of them, this would have not happened either. Obviously, the guy was too strong for them. Now, all things aside, shooting someone in the back looks awful. Even if an escaping inmate is shot in the back from a prison guard tower, it does not feel right to me.
I think I will call it a day here. This happened on Friday night but it spoiled enough of my day. I wish I had not found this thread at all. I don't want to hear such stories no more.

This individual did not just scuffle and resist arrest.

He proceeded to grab the officers weapon than proceeded to fire upon when chased.

This individual had no idea what type of weapon he had but he was quick to try to use it on the officers chasing him.

Luckily it was just the taser gun. If he had gotten the officers firearm you can bet there would have been shots fired at the officers.

Split seconds of bad decisions which 2 will pay for with their lives.

On the 3 mile bridge connecting Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, FL. We have a few of them..couple of dozen sometimes.

 

This is like déjà vu, all over again. Remember the Walter Scott case in South Carolina?

The police officer involved in that case is currently serving a life imprisonment sentence with no parole. He took a plea deal to avoid the death penalty!
