You would have to consume 5 pounds in a fixed time or the bill.
Some people have trouble with that kind of intake. I like my steaks cut a pound and that's plenty.
We ended up in the eastern Armarillo 76 for weeks having a major meal that is formal and includes everything. It was a highlight to running the miles that we did. The cook there was really good. I hear they are gone for years so.. there is that.

BBQ is a food group in Texas. There are tens of thousands of BBQ joints in the state, but here are the ones that I would recommend. The problem with all of these is truck parking. Very few options in that regard, but if you are in an area that you could catch a ride, these are certainly worth visiting.
Spring Creek BBQ, North Texas (multiple locations) - Spring Creek is a chain of BBQ restaurants and they are pretty consistent in food quality. Their BBQ is pretty good and they have a good variety of choices. They bring fresh rolls by your table as you enjoy your meal, and they have cobblers and ice cream (Blue Bell) for dessert. Spring Creek sets the bar in my opinion overall, though I don't think they are the best by any stretch. Truck parking will vary by location; you might have to get creative in finding a place to park a big truck.

Loco Coyote, Glen Rose - The Loco Coyote is one of my favorite places to eat. They have really good BBQ, serve Texas Sized portions and it is a rustic saw dust on the floor kind of place that is out in a country setting. They stay busy with motorcycle groups coming through, families and couples. It isn't a rough joint in regards to it being a motorcycle gang type of place. Truck parking isn't an option, although you might get away with bob-tailing over if you get there early enough.

Corkscrew BBQ, Houston- It is good enough that I will hop on the bike and will ride down to Houston two or three times a year just to eat at this place. You've got to get there early, though. They only cook so much meat and they run out early! This BBQ is in my top three list. Truck parking isn't available last I was down there, but if you can catch a ride over it is well worth the trip.

Franklin BBQ, Austin - Franklin is another great place to enjoy some Que. This place is a Texas staple and it will be pretty busy anytime you visit. It has been a couple of years since my last visit, but up to that they have been good. Again, truck parking was a no go last time visited, and I imagine it hasn't improved. Plan on catching a ride if you decide to visit Franklin's.

Coopers BBQ, Ft Worth & Hard 8 BBQ, Roanoke - I am going to lump these two places together. They are very similar in presentation and offerings. Both are pretty good and it is easy to overload yourself when you are ordering meat at their pits. The sauces at each are very different, with Hard 8 having a thick and somewhat sweet sauce and Coopers having a thinner sauce. Coopers in Ft Worth has enough parking area that you could potentially park a semi if it isn't too crowded. The Hard 8 in Roanoke will require catching a ride.

Heim BBQ, Ft Worth - Heim BBQ in Ft Worth is another of my favorites. This place has really good Que and they serve bacon burnt ends. If you visit Heim, you've got to try them!! This place is really busy, so unless you hit it early plan on it being a bit of a wait to get in and eat. The area that Heim's is in has a few other places that are pretty good as well, but we're staying on the Que. Parking for a big truck isn't happening at Heim, so plan on catching a ride there is you are in Cowtown. It will be worth the trip!!

Notice that Texas' Best BBQ isn't on this list; I personally don't care for their Que, wouldn't recommend them and as a matter of fact I think they suck. Sorry, my opinion.
I haven't had Rudy's, yet. They are building a new location not far from me, and as soon as they open up I'll give them a try. Rudy's has other locations in the area and they are pretty busy (big reason I haven't tried them, yet), so odds are they are pretty good. I'll have to wait and see, though.
As with anything, everyone has their own tastes. It is a shame that the truck stops don't have good choices (for the most part) in the way of food options. It's an even bigger shame that more eatin' places aren't truck friendly! I guess that's another topic!!jon69 Thanks this. -
We always stopped at Babes fried chicken , Frisco Tx, some of the best food I've ever had , get there early.

One of my wives cousins has the nickname of beef, and for a good reason.
He ate it and all the trimmings and told them he thought he could handle another one. lol -
Cooper's has a place in Junction, TX I-10 XT 456 . Lots of truck parking behind and across the street. Stopped there a lot on my trips down 377 to Laredo. Lum's is also in Junction, but it is down in town and not a place to park a truck. But it is also good.

We ate at Babes in Granbury last week. Always a treat but no place to get a truck into.

Been to Cooper's there twice. Didn't learn my lesson the first time ... Wouldn't feed that crap to a dog.RockinChair, gerardo1961 and buzzarddriver Thank this.

I was NOT impressed with the Cooper's location in Junction, and I went there twice. It's a shame there's no truck parking near Lum's.
