Had a scare this morning

I pray I never end up having it happen to me. But I've seen enough talk on here about it. That I'll be OCD about tug testing. Murphy will still probably find me, though.

 

Nice catch, watching the trailer.

 

Check the bolt sticking out the front. It must be flush against the 5th wheel.

 

Look and tug test. Tugging will let you know if the trailer brakes need to be adjusted

 

Always, always tug test. I always do it twice. I dropped a full trailer once in the yard, working by myself at night. Cranking that sucker up before anyone caught me was enough for me to never again forget to tug test.

 

This is Something that happens to Nearly Every Trucker...Once..Then you are too Embarrased to have it happen ever again. You shine a flaslight under the sob and tug test etc. Yes,it happened to me (Bang head). Po'ed the fellow truckers trying to get out the entrance across the street.. Something to the effect of ""Hey youre blocking the Whole FN street". Luckily was just "Shaggin' trailers to the drop lot 2 blocks away and only had Landing gear uo 3 inches. Felt it pulling back... Oh Sheesh ..Airlines are about to rip off. Drop air bags and got under it..Before looked liked a cluster.uck of a driver. Lol

 

Also, crawl under and check that the jaws are closed. You can't be too careful.
