Well yes he struck the bridge. No I dont think anyreal damage has occurred. Tho I think some one whom built the bridge has some explaining to do where the trucl struck the last part only.
FerrissWheel and tommymonza Thank this. -
Not really. The only issue would be if the sign does not indicate the lowest clearance in that lane, but each lane is marked.
The driver should have crossed over into the HOV lane, but I am guessing he either thought he couldn't or got his height wrong (didn't properly measure).Bud A., FerrissWheel and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
Is it sad I opened the thread just to see if it was a spool in Houston?Bud A., D.Tibbitt, lovesthedrive and 3 others Thank this.

Why? The road underneath probably slopes.

Where's the freakin' escort? See? This is what happens when you try and save a buck. I doubt any damage to the bridge, but those specialized heavy hauls, those things they haul are like one off items, with months of work behind them, cost fortunes, and then they skimp on the most impartent port, the transport. Nice going, yutz,,,eh?

It has been a while, but escort not typically required for height on such a load in BC. The province is usually pretty good about routing. In fact, they even have a handy online tool for height restrictions (Height Clearance Tool) that breaks it down by lane, ramp, etc. So... no excuses.
