Do not remember that but glad that helped. Years ago I did a fair amount of that type work. When I went to renew my insurance I was canceled after they received the questionare. Two pages of do you do trailer hitches, oil changes, paint and body, tankers etc. Percentage of each and all the answers on both pages must total 100 percent.
Hoss: I am not sure what you have and are looking to do. Back in the day it was common to throw some channel on the back and a tag. Air bag tag we called them. Just had to move the 5th wheel back.
The pusher axles normally were on tandems for extra capacity. The later models were steerable which did not need to be picked up for normal turns.
If you can do what you are talking about without any axle, truck or combined gross being over you are good.
On some special application trucks we went to the bone yard and bought parts to extend the slider rails on the truck. With the extended slides they could go back for the landing gear on short neck trailers and forward to axle heavy loads.

It looks like the rear crossmember was painted when the tail light panel was installed to replace the individual tail lights that were standard on those trucks. -

@jamespmack
What do think of these guys? Seems like it's quality work. Not just dumping more fuel in it and calling it a tune.

@singlescrewshaker If you do end up keeping the old girl that 430/1550 or 430/1650 program should be a nice wakeup and still be reliable. Is yours Ddec 2 or 3. I don't think they do the 2s.
Your fuel mileage will go up some.
I know the downfall is no piston squirters but didn't the ddec3 go to(12.7) 500/1650 w/o squirters but was drilled for it?Last edited: Jun 21, 2020

Detroit is the poor boys motor. & I dang sure ain't got a beach house yet..
I like the idea of c12 for its 2070lb weight. I like having a light weight tractor, especially since my fallback if stepdeck craps the bed on me again will be hopper bottom. Extra half ton in the bucket over a 3406/c15. Heck the c12 is ~650lbs lighter than my 11.1L..
Hey, this will really make you sick.. I peek at m11 & ism's when no one is watching me.!PoleCrusher, Tug Toy, Brettj3876 and 3 others Thank this. -
