My neighborhood Walmart has those signs too. Don’t tow unless some numbskull drops his trailer or leaves the truck parked too long. I’ve seen some angry truckers coming back from their weekend and they’ll immediately come to me and ask why I wasn’t towed. Idiots lol I actually give the managers some grease. $40 for the weekend is cheaper than $250 a day at the tow yard.

It doesn't take a difficult google search to get the phone number of the Walmart you wish to shop at. Call, speak to the manager. Get their name. Ask if short term truck parking is permitted for shopping. Be polite. While I have been told "sorry, not at this location", they've never been rude. And I've never been ticketed, towed, or booted. It ain't that complicated. Walmart corporate policy currently does not prohibit truck and rv parking, it often isn't their choice. It is the choice of the actual property owner that Walmart leases the property from, or it is because of discriminatory local ordinances. If you are getting mad at Walmart, you are getting mad at the wrong people.

I agree, most of you people are pigs. Walmart started that as a short term rest stop in the middle of the night, when the store was closed, once the HOS rules changed, it was never meant to be a truckstop for 14 hours. I feel for you guys, I really do, these idiots in Washington make these rules, but failed to realize, where are these trucks going to "sit out" their off time? Before your stupid rules, the turnover at a truckstop was a regular thing. You'd rest for a couple hours, and the space would open up for the next guy. Not like that today. RV's are a different story. Most the time it's happy families that will spend a fortune at their store, not some trucker throwing P bottles out the door and taking up 10 parking spots and leaving and didn't buy a thing. Walmart is not the problem. I think it's a great place, provides a ton of so-so paying jobs, and for a rural community like mine, it has just about everything I need. Aim your sights at Washington, not Walmart.

A lot of the stores have signs that say no truck parking. Not just overnight parking.

"most of you people are pigs". Well thank you so much for the untrue, and unfair generalization. I, and my friends and coworkers are not pigs. In fact, the pigs are fairly rare. There are just enough of them to mess it up for everyone. But you do you, and have a nice day. BTW, Washington DC doesn't make parking ordinances for Gardner, Ks. Just saying.rachi, Dave_in_AZ, ProteinBar and 1 other person Thank this.
