Long guns in trucks

This is the Mossberg Shockwave. 12 gauge, 5+1 with the regular length, 8+1 capacity with the mini shells. 26 inches long, considered a firearm, not a rifle or SBR, by the NFA.

Would be better suited as a truck gun than a long gun.

 

Why the hell would you want to try and finagle a long gun in a tiny truck? Hand guns are made for short range and don't get hung up on everything. You can get extended mags if you need more than a double stack standard, and if you need better long range accuracy you shouldn't be there in the first place. No guns are typically allowed in every state so why even worry about the laws around handguns?

I also know I wouldn't be advertising it was with me, nor would I ask permission. I'd rather be fired an alive vs dead with a job.

Not sure it still qualifies as a long gun though.

I forgot to mention, in a zombie apocalypse, and you have to shoot your way out of the truck and escape on foot

this would be the best choice.

 

They make a 410 shock wave. Lighter, easier to handle and they make great 410 self defense ammo. It cost around $400- $450. The shockwave nightstick is the one I want in 12g


Personally I think a handgun with low recoil self defense ammo is the smart way to go in a truck. The way I think about it is that if I ever need to use a firearm it's the last resort which means it'll likely be up close and personal. A revolver using .38 wad cutters would be great too. I don't want over penetration. I do want it to be easy to handle under high stress. Interesting question on long guns but I'd stick to a good pistol.

 

Curious I was. So Google away on the whole idea of having a long gun in your motor vehicle. They rarely make a distinction beyond that.

But it appears that many states are similar. You would have to check every state that you intend to travel in, but having a loaded firearm of any type is generally prohibited unless you have a CC permit that is valid in that jurisdiction. In many locations you can have a long gun( 24" or longer) some many require it to be locked away and not accessible, some may allow in a rack and accessible. But most do not allow it to be loaded. (definition: “Firearm” – Means any deadly weapon capable of expelling or propelling one or more projectiles by the action of an explosive or combustible propellant. “Firearm” includes an unloaded firearm, and any firearm that is inoperable but that can readily be rendered operable.
