Getting back into trucking again after being out of the industry for a year. Found a decent company that took me on and they are sending me out on the road Thursday. I didn't do any road test or anything, they apparently have no problem that I'm driving again solo after a year.
Any things I should watch out for getting back into it? I'll be running regional within 500 miles. I'm terrified of backing up at a truck stop after not backing for a year.
I heard hours of service has changed too, are they better or worse?
Any tips or suggestions is appreciated.

It feels the same to me to how it was a year ago, except the Driver's Lounge areas are closed. Some new Pilot/Love's places opened around the country.
There was a temporary HOS exception the drivers could use when hauling essential goods such as groceries during the virus shutdown.
I wouldn't recommend trying to back up at busy truck stops with not much space to work with as it is going to take you time being extra cautious and you'll be blocking the traffic, then you'll be under pressure to do it quickly. Give it 2 weeks first.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
