Thanks. It was def a lil nervousness when I left cuz I knew UPS was such a solid company with a pension, but I held tight to what I believed and kept faith I'd land on my feet somewhere. I'll never forget when I was at the small pack terminal doing the hiring paperwork for feeder. One of the shop stu's came in and said he made $100k a yr and all he does is this, and he made the motion of kicking back holding the steering wheel lol. Some guys think you'd have to be an absolute moron to pass up that opportunity. I guess count me as one of those haha.

Once you get some seniority, you're on cruise control. But getting to that point can be difficult. Being on-call is no joke.

What could a new Road Driver expect as far as weekly mileage and hours at UPS Freight? I see the starting mileage rate is $0.50/mile.

It depends on the terminal. Seeing that you are in redding, i don't know which hub you would be working out of/mostly be working in and out of?

It's all about Luck, Timing and Terminal.

Now, one thing you WILL notice at places like upsf and fedex frt is the employee parking lot: Quite a few mercedes, porches, bmw, new gm/ford/mopar crew cabs etc. Or if just "basic" chevy/honda etc., then they are new. THIS should tell you something about cashflow at upsf......

Don't have further time to discuss anything right now. i am working TOO MUCH. And this is actually leading to unhappiness.

Bottom line is, it depends on the terminal, but generally your cashflow is going to be good.

That doesn’t say anything other than the possibility of either their employees consistently making financial decisions which aren’t always sustainable or their employees value leasing over purchasing.

Remember that time you were telling us about how your pickup truck was going to get hooked because you sat home for a little bit at work?

I have to agree with McUzi on this, my Saia wages are not stopping me from going down to the Ram dealer and buying the brand new Ram 3500 Cummins Tradesman that I really want, it's the fact that I have no truck payment and I am milking my paid for Ford F350 for all it's worth, having no payments is nice, the parking lot isn't always a good example .

I’m still just trying to picture one of our drivers owning a Porsche. Or any German sports car really.

You know, next year I want to get a Tesla...and then I remember that my 10 year-old Honda has only had the hood up for oil changes and two tune-ups. Lol

yeah...cars in the parking lot isn’t the best standard. i drive a 358k mile jeep to work. rust, squeaks, rattles you name it.

i didn’t get any trump money. prob why i can’t afford a better daily driver eh.
