Well, yeah... just turning on the switch won't do it. I don't know about all these new trucks and technology, but the old way was to idle up around 1000 so oil didn't pool in the turbo and the motor maintained heat in the winter, or efficiently worked the ac in the summer.

If it won’t idle try a screwdriver from under the dash to the pedal .... you need the right length and fool around a little.

Son, haha! I'm old enuf to be your dad. Get a full bottle of Gatorade and set it UPSIDE DOWN on the fuel pedal....just until you hear the rev..gently...before you shut the truck off. Make sure you have the red N yellows pulled, of course. The weight and dim's of the full 22 oz'r works well. Don't ask me how I know, haha! About 10 years OTR, LoL~!

The problem with the new trucks is ya got to trick the ecm that there is activity going on to keep it idling.... If ya just wedge something between the pedal and dash it will work for a couple minutes until the ecm senses nothing is happening and shutsdown the truck... the trickis to keep the rpms going up and down . Even just 1 rpm up and down is enough to trick it.... How to do that ? No idea..... If cruise control dont work there might be a button on dash that says engine shutdown override , click that when the stop engine light pops up

Ive thought about inventing a battery powered device that is set on a timer and presses the fuel pedal every 2 minutes so some of u guys could keep idling LOL
