I'd drink a redbull if I needed an extra kick in the pants. I don't drink coffee, I have enough vices and don't need a new one. Plus it makes me crash super hard after 30 minutes.
I hear those 5 Hour Energy things do a good job.

Best not to use either and rest as your body needs and tells you. Trip plan accordingly. Either "pick me up" option will become a crutch and/or an addiction. So you'll be both increasing the amount you need as well as becoming dependant on it for every day.

I find neither coffee or energy drinks do anything for me. Just mess up my sleep patterns. I find its the physical act of picking up the coffee cup that makes me more alert.

I prefer energy drinks over coffee, but I don't just down them. I've found when I need 1 the most beneficial method is to sip on 1 while also sipping on water. The bigger thing is to TRY to stick to a schedule as much as possible, get exercise, and eat healthy. Right now those things are difficult with your being in training, but hopefully soon you'll be solo.
