I'll drink hot coffee in the winter but this time of year I like the cold Monster coffee drinks. Hot coffee on a 90 degree morning doesn't do it for me.

I have been a caffeine junkie for over 40 years. Coffee, and more recently, Energy Drinks DAILY. I'm 60 and no I'll effects to date. BP avg. 116/70( no meds) no blood sugar issues, could stand to lose about 15-20 lbs. 5' 8" 180. Would like to get down to 165 and back into 32 waist jeans........probably not. So much depends on genetics, and everything in moderation, ( well..... Not so much caffeine for me.) I sleep like a baby for 6-7 hours after each drive shift. Life is good!

    Questions:

    1. Are you having trouble sleeping?
    2. How long can you drive until fatigue sets in?
    3. On a scale of 1-10, where you you rate yourself on self discipline?

Not having ac makes it a little difficult; if I’m just driving then 11 hours no problem; it took me a little over 2 hours to secure this load with over half the straps I got, edge protectors and tarp it and I rode my clock down to 25 minutes; I’d probably give myself a 9 for self discipline, room for improvement

30 year coffee drinker here. I'll have 2 big cups a day black and I keep a bang energy drink on standby just in case. I try to limit the energy drink to no more than one a week depends. So far far so good. :)

I actually really like those caffeinated chocolate bars they sell at the truck stops. Buy the whole box from amazon. Gives you a slow pick up and it slowly goes down non of that crash from energy drinks or the constantly need to pee when drinking coffee. You got to leave them in the truck fridge though they melt easy.

Sleep works best, just pull over take a 10 or 15 minute nap. Your allowed a couple of these per day anyway.
I like to start my day between 2300 and 0100, And I generally run to 14:00 and it works for me. If I try to start 0800 or so I will run out of energy before I finish my shift.
So I will short the first day to get the load on to my terms.

Starting 2-3am i like the best. Best of both worlds. Beat the am rush to my delivery and by the time im empty the morning rush is cleared out and breeze on back.
