And to specifically say it.. Leave the laptop at home. Bring your phone if you get bored easily. otherwise all electronics, like laptop, gps, tv, gaming console (and yes I did see that once at swift) needs to stay at home until you get your own truck. You can also ask for the trainers number once you get assigned, give him a call and see what he wants.

40" duffel will do. Bring enough tees for a week, 2 pairs of pants, few shorts. Lots of underwear and socks. A hoody, soap and towel, gloves, flip flops, and laundry detergent.

When I went out with a trainer I never used any of the pants I packed so that was a total waste of space. You'll spend the majority of your time in the cab where it should be comfty temperature wise.

Buy a travel pillow at wally world and bed down on the duffle. It's not a bad sleep honestly. When I got out on my own I kept my clean clothes in the duffle and still sleep on it but I'm a wierdo that likes sleeping on a mountain of pillows.

Whatever you do, DON'T be like my trainee from Hell. He brought a seven piece matching set of Gucci luggage, then spent the first hour all pissed off because he didn't have space to hang his silk pants and shirts and was searching and finally found one of the SEVEN pair of color coordinated leather sandles to go with the outfit he wanted to wear the next day. He said he was going to bring a "professional look" to trucking.

I start training in a couple of weeks...I was wondering for the luggage, can I bring just a single regular size suitcase (it has wheels) with me for training and for the truck?
...Will it fit in the truck as a team driver (not as a solo driver)?
I'm trying to fit a week worth of clothes, basic toiletries, pillow and blanket.

    No.

A soft duffel bag. 3 pair jeans, 5 tee's a hoodies, a pack of underwear, 3 pair socks, 2 pair work gloves, steel toe shoes that are comfortable to wear all day, shower shoes, a heavy coat if you're not going home before fall, a pillow and a sleeping bag (not a blanket). Wrap the coat and the pillow in the sleeping bag. Put everything else into the duffel. You're gonna be homeless and mobile for a few weeks and so, you need to be able to travel light and quickly for an extended period of time. If you have to ride the greydog, put the sleeping bag combo under the bus and keep the duffel with you. When you get into orientation, leave the sleeping bag at the motel, but carry the duffel with you everywhere you go. You may have a new roommate in the motel every night, so keep your important papers with you with your electronics and main gear in the duffel.

You may not have the space for a hard bag in your trainer's truck. Odds are you're going to have to sleep with your luggage.

That is too many jeans and not enough socks.

Unless you are in a very dirty job you won't need more than 2 jeans.
And unless you want to cause foot problems you will carry enough socks to last at least a week, with a fresh pair every day.
Losing 1 pair of jeans makes room for many pairs of socks.
Laundry seldom gets done more than once a week.

A military duffel bag is more than sufficient for a pillow (packed last), sleeping bag, and what ever clothing. If it doesnt fit in the bag, then whom ever is bringing too much gear. Pillow last as it is always nice to use the pillow when traveling by bus.
